Green Drinks at U of D Courtyard MarriottPlease join us for Green Drinks on Tuesday April 5th at the UD Courtyard Marriott from 6 - 8 PM. The Hotel is located at 400 David Hollowell Drive (200 New London Rd.), Newark, Delaware. It opened in 2004 and is dedicated to making the environmental lifestyle aspect of the business second nature to the staff and students. Bill who has always been concerned with “keeping the Earth alive” by being sensitive to the environment incorporates single stream recycling and waste management into the kitchen. They are always searching for new ways to engage students and faculty, and are looking at solar options. Currently they make mulch from their food waste which is used on the grounds and the Hotel’s Restaurant Home Herb Garden, which the staff is very proud of. The produce comes from local farmers and they arrange with companies like Staples to come back and get their boxes, which eliminates bulky items from their waste stream. They also refrain from using toxic chemicals for cleaning. These are all good reasons why we’re having Green Drinks there and also because Bill and his staff do such a wonderful job. The food is always delicious, the service and atmosphere are both refined and relaxing

For the last 25 years, they have made it their business to protect our past and transform our future through the use, development and advocacy of rail-trails. Then, there were fewer than 200 known rail-trails. Today, you'll find more than 1,600 rail-trails across the country, totally nearly 20,000 miles. Over the years, they have won some major victories, fought some tough battles and helped build a legacy of trails for generations to come.
