A Ray of Light on a Dark and Blustery Night. Green Drinks and Great Films!

Last night was a wet and blustery evening and the media was announcing tornado warnings and school district and other closures by the minute but the lights were on and the people came out in droves to attend the Green Drinks reception at The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and the Film Brothers Festival of Shorts at Theatre N. It just goes to show you that when you do the right thing for the right reason things have a way of working out.

On behalf my business partner Lori Lake, and myself, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Gordon of Film Brothers and his staff, David Dennet from Southern Wine and Spirits, Linda, Angela and their staff of Chef on the Run, Rex Reid from Crown Imports, Priscilla, Vicky and all the rest of the lovely ladies at the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, and my dear friend Patty Boyd, for all that they did to make last night’s Green Drinks reception such a successful and memorable event. I do not even know where to begin except ...continued

Come meet “The CMI Family”

CMI to Host Green Drinks Oct. 12th

About 11 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting with Linda Davis, wife and business partner of Dale Davis, President of CMI Solar Electric, Inc. That sunny day in May was the beginning of a long term friendship and business relationship. Dale and Linda decided to take a leap of faith and start their own business, doing what they knew how to do best and on their own terms. In other words, doing the right things for the right reasons.

Working for the first few years out of their home, they quickly built a thriving business with unwavering adherence to their core beliefs of providing the best products with unprecedented customer service, encouraging employee excellence and training and giving back to the community. Over the years the company has relocated twice to accommodate the growing needs of their customer base. Being family owned and operated they are sticklers for upholding ...continued

DNREC Secretary Encourages Delawareans to Conserve Water

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Collin O’Mara is asking state residents to voluntarily conserve water due to the continued dry conditions that have persisted throughout Delaware. Precipitation levels throughout the state have been below normal for the past six months.

“Conserving water during periods of prolonged heat and lack of rainfall will help preserve existing water supplies and reserve storage,” said Secretary O’Mara. “Wise water use practices make good sense for the environment and your pocketbook any time of year.”

According to the Delaware Water Supply Coordinating Council, at this time Delaware’s ground water, stream flows, and reservoirs range between normal to below normal levels. Streams in particular are declining, but at a gradual rate. Water conditions reported at the Council’s Sept. 22 meeting include a 6-month rainfall deficit of 7.1 inches at the Wilmington Airport, 7.7 inches in Dover, and 6.9 inches in Georgetown. ...continued
